Reese joined AU as a volunteer in Fall 2017. She then became Assistant Producer in Spring 2018 and was in charge of master controls for AU’s live shows. From Spring 2019 to Spring 2020, Reese served as one of our Executive Producers. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in PR in May, she became a senior advisor for AU in Fall 2020, her final semester with AU. Now, Reese works for WE Communications in Austin. She hopes to continue to grow in her PR career and aspires to do meaningful work that tackles social justice issues. What Reese loved most about AU is that it was always fun. “It genuinely felt like a family, I had some of my best memories of college through AU and got irreplaceable leadership experience.” Her favorite memory with AU is going to ACL in 2019 and getting to hang out in the press area, where she coincidentally encountered other AU alumni working there.

Megan joined AU in Fall 2018 as a volunteer, becoming Stage Manager in Fall 2019. In Spring 2020 she became our Script Supervisor and finally, she was our Social Media Coordinator in Fall 2020 before graduating. When Megan joined AU, she was “in a tough spot personally and academically,” and AU, Megan says, “gave me a place to go and feel like I was a part of something. A lot of my best memories are of things I’ve done for AU and with my friends from the show :)” Now that Megan has graduated, she makes short-form content in her free time and aspires to create media that tells the stories of women and the LGBTQ+ community.

Roberto joined AU in Spring 2019 and became our Media & Public Relations Head in Fall 2019. He then became one of our Executive Producers from Spring 2020 to Fall 2020 when he graduated. Looking back at his two years in AU, Roberto’s favorite memory is South by Southwest 2019. “SXSW allowed me to interact with members outside of ‘professional’ settings (show recordings/meetings) and is what motivated me to become a more active member/staffer. Becoming a staffer allowed me to improve upon AU's interview request system, further integrate member and staff communication, and lead a small rebranding effort.” Now that Roberto has graduated, he is trying to learn and do as much writing and sound work as he can so that one day he can have his own cartoon.

Ana joined AU in Fall 2018 and was our Live Production Manager from Spring 2019 to Spring 2020, and then became our Graphic Designer in Fall 2020. Her favorite thing about AU was the inclusiveness and camaraderie; “everyone was just so willing to help you out with whatever you needed help with (concert photography, editing interviews, you name it). I was really happy with the new logo I made last semester, but I think my favorite thing to do was concert photography. It was scary at first because there are so many moving parts but it was always a blast, I think my favorite concert was COIN with Dayglow. Huge shoutout to AU for getting me that photo pass.” Ana wants to become an editor and screenwriter for television and hopes to one day direct her own feature.

After graduating, she aspires to get a career in Spanish television/film and hopes to work on projects representing Latino culture. Her favorite memories from AU include crewing for interviews and meeting artists from all over the world. "I loved walking around random Austin streets and discovering new places while interviewing artists for the show."
